Russia can import plant-based goods transited via Belarus directly
MOSCOW, Mar 19 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Oversight can consider direct imports of the plant products, which are now transported across Belarus, the authority said in a statement on Tuesday.
“Due to the multiplicity of cases of sanctioned goods detection during imports from the Republic of Belarus accompanied with phytosanitary certificates issued Main State Inspectorate for Seed Production, Quarantine and Plant Protection of Belarus and the absence of effective measures by the Belarusian side to prevent the spread of these goods to Russia, the Federal Antimonopoly Service is forced to consider direct supplies of quarantined goods from third countries across the entry points on the Russian border located on the outward borders of the Eurasian Economic Union,” the ruler said.
A meeting with representatives of the Belarusian phytosanitary authorities will be held on March 27.
